What are your checking account fees?

There are several types of checking accounts that DATCU offers. Some checking accounts may have a monthly service charge, if applicable. Our most popular checking account is a free checking. This account does not incur a monthly service fee. Applicable accounts that incur a monthly service fee require that a monthly balance of $500 is maintained daily. See the truth in savings fee schedule. Checking accounts that have an applicable monthly service fee incur a $10.00 fee.

Do you offer online bill pay?

Yes. It is free when you sign up for e-statements; otherwise, it is $5.95 per month and a checking account is required. Learn more about this service. 

Does your savings account include a debit card?

The savings account alone does not have a debit card. However, if you have a free checking account you can withdraw money at the ATM from your savings.

How do I make a loan payment?

There are several options available to our membership. We can do an auto transfer from the savings/checking. You can transfer a payment from your account in home banking. We can also debit an account from another institution through ACH. All we need is for the member to sign an ACH form and a voided check. Members can also come to one of our branches and pay by check or cash.

How do I make a credit card payment?

There are also several convenient methods of paying your credit card bill. You can set up an auto transfer each month through online banking. You also can mail a check with payment coupon, or visit any one of our ten branch locations. Use this address for payment:

How can I reset my debit card PIN?

Visit one of our branches  and we can reset your PIN.

How do I make additional principal payments to my loan?

When making a payment to the loan, let the teller know you are making an additional principal payment.

How can I make payments to my loan online from another financial institution?

We make it very simple and convenient. If you do not have online banking, just sign-up for online banking where you will have the ability to make a payment from another financial institution through our online banking.

Can I view my checks online?

Yes, DATCU’s free online banking offers you a convenient way to monitor your accounts, view transaction history and balances, and also view all checks.

Why are my checking account available balance and actual balance different?

Sometimes this difference is due to debit card transactions that are pending and waiting to clear member accounts.

What is a bad address fee?

DATCU makes every attempt to make sure our members are receiving their statements and information in a timely and accurate manner. However, there are costs associated with mailing out statements and especially when the statements are returned to DATCU. A bad address fee is charged to an account when we do not have an accurate and up to date address for our members.

What do I do if I have a charge on my account that isn't mine?

Visit one of the personal service representatives and we will look further into this.

What is DATCU's transit/ABA routing number?

Can I open an account online?

You can apply for a loan online. However, at this time, you will need to come in one of the branches or open an account by mail.

Why can't I call a branch office directly?

The call center is better equipped to service the calls coming into the credit union. However, they can always transfer any member to a branch for additional information, if needed. Most branches are geared to servicing the membership that are coming into the branch and may not always have the time or opportunity to take calls.

Are there penalties for paying off my loan early?

There are no penalties; if anything, you will save money.

Does a loan extension affect my credit?

No. It simply adds a month to the end of your loan, extending the contract.

How do I order checks online?

  1. Use this link to Deluxe's site.
  2. Sign in to online banking and select the checks tab.

Can I transfer money from one account to another online?

Yes. You can access different accounts online. However, there are stipulations.

Can I put a stop payment on a debit card purchase?

Once an authorization has been given, you will first need to try to solve the transaction dispute with the merchant. If dispute is not resolved, we will need you to come in and speak with a representative to try to dispute the transaction.

How long does it take to receive my title once I have paid off my car loan?

If paid by check, it will take 7-10 business days. You can request to receive and pick up the title in Denton, if payment is made by cash. This is not a frequent transaction, so approval must be submitted and the title department will need to be notified so that they can pull the title from the title vault area.

Can I opt out of having my debit card state restricted?

You can request that certain restrictions be removed if you are traveling to another state or if you are making an online purchase from a state that has credit transactions restricted. Please keep in mind that the restrictions have been placed on these states to reduce the possibility of fraud. You can always use your card with the PIN in any state.

How do I sign up for online banking?

  1. Follow the link on this page.
  3. Follow instructions (steps 1-4) to create login information and make security selections.

How do I sign up for mobile banking?

  1. Download the DATCU app to your smartphone or mobile device. (Free in the app store under DATCU.)
  2. Use the same username and password used for DATCU’s Online Banking.

How I enroll in e-statements?

  1. Follow the link to online banking on this page.
  2. Select the STATEMENTS tab.
  3. Click the ENROLL button.

How do I view e-statements online?

  1. Follow the link to online banking on this page.
  2. Select the STATEMENTS tab.
  3. Click the desired document.
  4. Click the DOWNLOAD button.
  5. Open to view/print.

How do I add a checking account (from another financial institution) in DATCU’s online banking site for loan payments?

  1. Sign in to DATCU’s online banking site.
  2. Click on the LOANS tab.
  3. Click on EXTERNAL PAYMENTS located in the dark green bar just under the tab.
  4. On the next screen, click on ADD EXTERNAL ACCOUNT located under the EXTERNAL ACCOUNTS section.
  5. Follow the prompts to enter your bank information.
  6. Click SAVE*.

*Once the external account has been verified, and approved, a notification email will be sent to the email address of record for the account. In addition, in order for an external account to be approved to make loan payments online, DATCU needs to have received a check payment from the account being added. If a check payment has not been received previously, from the account being added, a voided check copy can be faxed to 940-442-5520 ATTENTION: EXTERNAL ACCOUNTS.

How do I use an approved checking account (from another financial institution) to make loan payments in DATCU’s online banking site?

  1. Sign in to DATCU’s online banking site.
  2. Click on the LOANS tab.
  3. Click on EXTERNAL PAYMENTS located in the dark green bar just under the tab.
  4. On the next screen, click on ADD PAYMENT located under the EXTERNAL TRANSFERS section.
  5. Follow the prompts to schedule a payment, or to set up a recurring payment.
  6. Click SAVE*

*Once the payment information has been saved, the scheduled payment will show under the EXTERNAL TRANSFERS section.
