Look for the contactless symbol at the check-out of your favorite merchant. When you are ready to go, simply “Tap to Pay”!

What does the contactless symbol look like?

How do I tap my contactless card or mobile/wearable at checkout?

It works best when your contactless chip card or payment-enabled mobile/wearable device is held flat over the contactless symbol, versus held at an angle.

Simply insert your Visa Card into the payment terminal just as you currently do now.

What technology is used for “Tap to Pay” Visa Cards?“

"Tap to Pay” Visa Cards use short range wireless technology to make secure payments between a contactless chip card and payment-enabled mobile/wearable device. As soon as you tap your card or device near the contactless symbol, your payment is sent for authorization.

How are contactless payments secure?

“Each contactless transaction uses a one-time unique code that prevents counterfeit fraud. If a fraudster did get close enough to read a contactless card, they still would not gain access to the cardholder’s name or 3-digit security code. As a Visa cardholder, one benefits from multiple layers of security to prevent fraud before it can happen.  Also, if there were ever an instance of fraud, with your Visa card you are protected with Zero Liability*.
