DATCU has truly been my home away from home for over 19 years now. I started as a part-time teller in Lewisville while attending college and have advanced to become the South Regional Branch Manager while earning my MBA Degree through TWU.
It makes me proud to say that DATCU continues to stay financially strong, especially in these tough economic times. While other companies are cutting costs and eliminating some of their benefits, DATCU continues to provide excellent healthcare benefits and pays 100% of the employee medical and dental insurance premiums.
I love working for DATCU because I have the honor to learn from some of the brightest individuals in our industry.
– Frances Al-Waely – Regional Branch Manager – South Region
I’ve worked at DATCU since January, 1980. It was my senior year in high school and knew I didn’t have any interest in going to college so, I needed to look for a job that would have a future. Being a DECA student, I was able to go to school a half day and work a half day. My day was one class (7:30-8:30 a.m.) then to work. I lacked ½ an hour a day being full time. Upon graduation, May 1980, I became full time with benefits.
I started as a lobby teller and transferred to the loan dept. in the spring of 1980 and I’m now in operations. I’ve been a teller, loan processor, supervisor, I helped develop and establish the DATCU Call Center and the Central Lending dept. In addition, I served on many committees and have had the opportunity to go into the community to speak to groups of all ages about the credit union and financial education.
I can’t imagine working anywhere else. DATCU (co-workers and membership) is my extended family. I love the people I work with and the members I serve daily.
