DATCU Helps United Way of Denton County Raise $16,719

– DATCU, working with United Way of Denton, raised $16,719 this year with a Jet Ski raffle. Net proceeds will be used to help United Way of Denton County in their support of 20 partner agencies focused on making lives better for people residing in Denton County including children, seniors, families, veterans, and also those experiencing homelessness and people with mental illness.
The majority of funds were raised by DATCU employees who sold tickets to members in their branches and to people throughout the community.
The winner of the Jet Ski, valued at $10,847, was Carolyn Wright - a DATCU member.
DATCU is a long time Pacesetter Partner for United Way of Denton County. “Giving back to our community is a significant part of our culture. We are excited about the success we achieved this first year of the raffle fundraising initiative. We extend our thanks and appreciation to everyone who purchased tickets and also to Kenny Martin at Cycle Center of Denton who contributed to our efforts” stated McKenzie.
