Does DATCU offer insurance benefits to employees?
The credit union offers medical, dental and life insurance for full-time employees, with DATCU paying 100% of the premiums for employees. Employees may add vision insurance, as well as coverage for their family members.
Full-time employees and part-time employees working over 20 hours per week are eligible to enroll in our flexible spending plan. They are also eligible to enroll in the CareFlite membership program that covers the employee and all family members in their household. DATCU pays 100% of the membership cost.
Does the credit union offer retirement plans?
Yes! Full-time and part-time employees working over 20 hours per week are eligible to participate in our retirement plans after completing one year of service and 1,000 hours worked. Employees are able to participate in both the 401k plan and the profit sharing plan. DATCU matches 100% of the employee’s contribution to the 401k plan, up to 4%. As part of the profit sharing plan, DATCU contributes 4% of the employee’s annual salary into their retirement plan. The profit sharing plan contribution is subject to a vesting schedule.
Does the credit union offer vacation and sick leave?
Absolutely. Full-time employees earn eight hours each of vacation and sick leave each month. Part-time employees working over 20 hours per week earn four hours of each a month. Employees may use sick leave after 90 days of employment, and vacation leave after January 1 of the following year. Vacation leave accrual increases with tenure.
Do employees receive holiday pay?
The credit union observes an average of 13 holidays per year. Both full and part-time employees (working 20+ hours a week) are paid for holiday time.
Are there advancement opportunities at DATCU?
Employees in good-standing may apply for DATCU openings. Several employees have advanced during their tenure at the credit union. Check out the employee testimonial page for examples!
Does the credit union train employees?
Yes! When an employee is hired, he will generally spend a week in Human Resources and Training. The employee then receives additional training in his department. Throughout the year, DATCU offers many training classes, with classes that cover functions of other departments, the FISH! philosophy, member service training, and more!
If employees would like to learn more about the credit union environment in general, they may enroll in our Credit Union University. These self-paced, on-line learning modules cover credit union regulations, lending guidelines, teller and member service procedures, and more. After completing each level of courses, the employees “graduate” and receive a bonus.
